Welcome to RentMyBase. By accessing our platform, you are joining a community-driven movement to bring transparency to the rental market. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of RentMyBase. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using RentMyBase, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must immediately cease use of the platform. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use signifies acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Purpose of the Service

RentMyBase is an informational platform provided "as is." We facilitate the crowdsourcing of rental data to help users understand market trends. RentMyBase is not a real estate agency, broker, or legal advisor. We do not verify the legal status of any property or the authority of any person listing a property.

3. Community Standards & Acceptable Use

To maintain a high-quality environment for all users, you agree to the following:

• Honest Contribution: You will only submit rent data that is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Deliberate manipulation of price data (e.g., "price fixing") is strictly prohibited.
• Anti-Broker Policy: The "Direct Owner" flag is exclusively for property owners or authorized legal representatives. Brokers or agents misrepresenting themselves as owners will have their listings removed and their access revoked.
• No Automated Access: Scraping, crawling, or using any automated system to extract data from RentMyBase without prior written consent is prohibited.
• Respectful Interaction: Comments and reviews must remain civil. Hate speech, harassment, or the disclosure of others' private information is grounds for a permanent ban.

4. Proximity-Based Matching & Anti-Spam

To ensure high-quality, relevant matches and to protect our community from spam, access to direct contact information (such as WhatsApp links or phone numbers) is restricted to users within an 8km radius of the listing. This "Proximity Match" is a core security feature and cannot be bypassed. You agree to provide accurate location access to utilize these matching features.

4. Intellectual Property & Data Ownership

By submitting data (pins, rent values, reviews) to RentMyBase, you grant the platform a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, aggregate, and display this data for the benefit of the community. You represent that you have the right to share the information you provide.

5. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

RentMyBase serves as a repository of user-generated content. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data on the map. You use the platform at your own risk. RentMyBase, its contributors, and its developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages resulting from your reliance on map data or your interactions with individuals met through the platform.

6. Direct Owner & Flatmate Matching

RentMyBase provides a communication channel for users but does not participate in lease negotiations or financial transactions. We strongly recommend verifying the identity of any owner or flatmate and visiting properties in person before making any payments or signing agreements.

7. Termination of Access

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to the platform without notice if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in behavior that harms the community's integrity.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Maharashtra.
